Driving Hours from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park: The journey from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park typically takes around 2 to 3 hours by road, covering approximately 80 kilometers. Along the way, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Rwanda’s picturesque countryside, rolling hills, and vibrant villages.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our friendly tour guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park: After a brief orientation and refreshments, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northwest corner of Rwanda.
Along the way, we’ll pass through vibrant towns and verdant landscapes, offering glimpses of rural life in Rwanda. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you’ll check in to your chosen lodge or accommodation, where you can relax and unwind amidst the tranquility of the surrounding nature.
Today is the highlight of our tour as we embark on an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park.
After an early breakfast, we’ll gather at the park headquarters for a briefing by our experienced guide. From there, we’ll set off into the dense forest in search of the gentle giants of the mountains.
The trek can vary in duration and difficulty depending on the location of the gorilla families, but the reward of coming face to face with these magnificent creatures makes it all worthwhile.
After spending an hour observing and photographing the gorillas, we’ll hike back to the park headquarters and return to our lodge for a well-deserved rest.
In the evening, we’ll gather around the campfire to share our thrilling gorilla encounters. Dinner and overnight stay at our lodge.
Today, you will embark on another exciting wildlife adventure as you set out to track the captivating golden monkeys.
Like mountain gorillas, you will assemble at Kinigi park office for morning briefing and registration.
Found only in the Virunga Mountains, these playful primates are known for their vibrant golden coats and lively antics.
After lunch, immerse yourself in Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage with a visit to a local community.
Interact with villagers, learn about traditional customs and rituals, and gain insight into the daily lives of the Rwandan people.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Volcanoes National Park and begin your journey back to Kigali.
We’ll stop at scenic viewpoints and cultural sites, allowing you to enjoy Rwanda’s countryside and capture final memories.
Arriving in Kigali in the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to explore vibrant markets, museums, and landmarks. If time permits, consider a city tour or a visit to the Genocide Memorial.
