Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with En-route Stopover at Equator
To start your adventure, you will have an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala at 7:00 AM.
As you begin the road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, you will enjoy views of Uganda’s countryside, including banana plantations and Ankole cattle with their long horns.
A key highlight is a stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe, where you can stand in both hemispheres simultaneously. Capture this moment with photos and enjoy souvenir shopping at the craft shops.

After breakfast, head to the Bwindi Park Offices by 7:00 AM for a briefing and registration before starting the Gorilla Trekking Expedition.
Trek through the dense bush, tracking a gorilla family. The trek can last from a few hours to a whole day, depending on the gorillas’ location as they search for food, water, and shelter.
Spending an hour with the gorillas is awe-inspiring. Observe them up close as they eat, play, nurture their young, and rest.
After the trek, you will visit the Batwa Pygmies community. Here, you will learn about their traditional forest life and how they have adapted to modern changes. Participate in cultural dances and hear ancient stories—a truly enriching experience. You will end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
