In the morning, You will be greeted by our representative at Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali. Later set off for the journey to Volcanoes National Park; engaging in a Kigali City Tour before departing for the gorillas, enjoy a brief tour of Kigali; visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant reminder of the country’s tragic past but also a testament to its resilience and unity.
Continue with the drive to Volcanoes National Park through the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of Rwanda, often referred to as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” During the journey, you will have lunch en route. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will check in and relax, enjoying the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
You will have a pre-trek briefing in the evening from your guide about the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure before retiring at your lodge for Dinner and get a good night’s rest for the early morning trek.
Have an early breakfast at the lodge, then head to the park headquarters where you’ll be assigned a gorilla family to visit and meet your trackers. With your hiking gear ready, including a walking stick, hiking boots, and water, embark on the trek through the bamboo-covered slopes of the Virunga Mountains.
The trek can take from a few hours to a full day, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an hour with these shy giants, watching their daily routines, play, and interactions among themselves. This is truly a unique and unforgettable experience.
After your time with the gorillas, trek back to the base and meet with your driver for the return to the lodge, where you can enjoy lunch and freshen up.
Later, check out from your lodge and head back to Kigali. While you travel, reflect on the incredible memories and the beauty of Rwanda’s countryside during the drive back. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or at the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable tour.
